Exiled in India
2011-2012

Exiled in India is an autobiographical documentation of my one month residency in India, founded by the PMI2 award of the British Council. For this project, I took the role of the white European coming in India without any particular knowledge about the country, apart from the European stereotypes and clichés about India. Throughout my stay in the country and the daily interaction with Indian people and culture, I have developed a personal perspective of India by both being critical on European societies, but also thoughtful and open to the unknown Indian culture, always having in mind the complexities of the postcolonial theories and the influence of the western neoliberal culture.

Exiled in India was presented as a limited edition handmade book.
